Have you ever wondered how a museum functions, where artifacts originate from, or what is going on behind the scenes? Now is your chance to explore these questions and many more with the Monroe Seiberling's Mansion tour. You and your students will be immersed in the rich history of Howard County, as well as some national history that began right here in our community. This program is designed to teach students about good citizenship and the role of the Howard County Historical Society in our local community. The tour will include an interactive activity with questions and answers. Your students will view artifacts of Howard County's forefathers, learn about the history of the magnificent mansion that houses the artifact collection, and meet the Seiberling family who originally lived in the mansion. Finally, students will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of areas of the museum where artifacts are stored.
